Little Green Lotus add a fresh touch to G20

Updated : 2016-09-02

Little Green Lotus, a nickname for G20 summit volunteers, has become a catch phrase as the global event approaches.

The Chinese pronunciation of "Green Lotus" resembles "Qin He", which means amiable and friendly in Chinese. Thus, little Green Lotus is used to describe the young and dynamic volunteers of the summit.

A total of over 4,000 little Green Lotus are to volunteer during G20 and B20 at places across the city be it at the event venues, along the West Lake or at the airport.

"I feel lucky to take part. I will do my best in every assignment," said Wang Hongyang, who has been volunteering along the West Lake for several days.
