The 2016 Zhejiang-Hangzhou International Human Resources Exchanges and Cooperation Conference, aiming at attracting overseas talent and innovative projects, opened at the Hangzhou International Expo Center on Nov 8.

The conference, from Nov 8 to 11, includes some ten activities on exchanges and cooperation of international human resources, and has summoned more than 1300 projects fostering entrepreneurship and innovation. These projects covering digital information, biomedicine, environmental protection, cultural creation, finance and manufacturing have been released to industrial parks, venture capitals, enterprises and public institutions.

The State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs approved the establishment of China's first industrial park for international HR in Hangzhou at the opening ceremony. The park will be a new platform for connecting with and gathering international talent.

Before the conference, there was a contest for makers. It attracted many advanced projects, some of which make up for the deficit in domestic research. 23 percent of the projects have been industrialized and 38 percent of them are still under research and development.

Private enterprises, overseas organizations and venture capitals were actively involved in the contest. A capital fund of 300-500 million yuan ($44.25-73.75 million) has been set up for professional services in financing and support.

Zhejiang-Hangzhou International Human Resources Exchanges and Cooperation Conference has seen seven iterations since 2009. Over the past seven years, Hangzhou has introduced 1050 talents and signed 755 projects, totaling up 10.2 billion yuan.
