Representatives from over 30 news websites across China gathered at a summit forum for the China Cities News Website Alliance on Sept 19 in Hangzhou, capital of Zhejiang province to mark the beginning of a national internet media tour.

Hosted by the Hangzhou municipal Party Committee Publicity Department, the Internet Information Office and Hangzhou Daily Press Group, the four-day summit promotes the development of culture, ecology and national industries.

Lai Hong, deputy director of the local publicity department warmly welcomed the media representatives and spoke about the city's progress in the internet development.

Hu Baoxiang, president of the China Cities News Website Alliance shared opinions with summit attendees about the development of the city news websites and trends in internet media.

Tours of Hangzhou's picturesque Grand Canal, Liangzhu National Heritage Park and Xixi Wetland Park have also been organized for attending media representatives from Sept 19 to 22, as well as a tour of e-commerce conglomerate Alibaba and Smart City Exhibition Center.
