138 overseas works nominated for art week awards in Taizhou

A total of 138 overseas film and TV works have been nominated for the "Golden Orange" awards, which will be held at the 2018 Asia Tourism-Induced Film & TV Arts Week, an art event to be held from July 29 to August 1 in Taizhou, Zhejiang province.  

Endorsed by the Taizhou municipal government and organized by the Luqiao district government, it is expected to showcase Taizhou's latest achievements in the film and tourism industries, and promote exchanges of Asian film and TV culture between countries worldwide.

Film and TV works centering around tourism that are produced in Asia, by Asian people or filmed in other countries but reflect Asian culture are allowed to be nominated.

The organizing team began collecting works in April and by the end of May, it had received over 1,200 films and TV episodes. The materials submitted included films, TV plays, documentaries and micro films.

After preliminary reviews, 513 works entered the shortlist, among which 375 were from China and 138 were from overseas.

"India sent us some good episodes such as a 90-minute feature film. Israel and Turkey also submitted a few representative works of their countries," said Zheng Jin, vice chairman of the tourism TV committee of China Television Artists Association.

In total, there will be six categories of the awards, for different genres.

Works from countries in Europe and North America, including Spain, the United States and France, will also be on show during the art week.
