Hangzhou is expecting more professionals to show their talents and realize their dreams in the city, said Zhou Jiangyong, Party chief of the capital of East China' s Zhejiang province Nov 10.

The 2018 Hangzhou International Human Resources Exchanges and Cooperation Conference, which opened in Hangzhou Nov 10, attracted nearly 25,000 talents from 33 countries and regions to seek job and business opportunities.

The conference, involving individual talents, companies, associations of overseas returnees and investors, provided a platform for people to have face-to-face discussions on possible cooperation.

"Hangzhou is like a large magnet in the eyes of globe professionals," said Shi Yigong, president of the Westlake University, a research-oriented private university based in the city.

In recent years, Hangzhou has been working hard to create a favorable environment for talents such as founding a group of newly established platforms, including a cross-border e-commerce pilot zone, the Westlake University and the Zhejiang Lab.

Hangzhou has organized 10 editions of the international human resources exchanges and cooperation conference, and by the end of 2017 the conference had successfully brought in 1,143 projects worth 15.2 billion yuan ($2.19 billion).
