Three teachers from Jinhua Polytechnic departed for Rwanda Nov 21 to help train faculty members there and improve vocational education in the African country.

With individual focuses on communications and network technology, the production and inspection of green food, and cooking, the three teachers will organize training courses at eight schools in Rwanda to help them build their own disciplines.

Lou Hongliang, a renowned cooking teacher, said in addition to spreading China's food culture, he hoped to learn more about Rwanda's needs and to develop new dishes based on local ingredients.

Hu Zhengming, Party chief of Jinhua Polytechnic, hailed the exchange of teachers as being beneficial to China-Rwanda ties. He said the polytechnic is keen to promote advanced educational ideas in Rwanda and help it develop disciplines for local economic growth.

Since 2013, Jinhua Polytechnic has been actively matching its resources with Rwanda's needs for vocational education. Over the past five years, the polytechnic has successfully cultivated a group of technical talents by means of recruiting students from Rwanda and cooperating with the country's companies.
