Wenzhou natives gather for annual conference in South China

The fourth Conference for Wenzhou Natives in Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao took place in Guangzhou, Guangdong province, Dec 26.

More than 1,000 Wenzhou people who now work and live in South China gathered to greet the new year and discuss future development.

A chamber of commerce and industry was launched at the conference with the aim of furthering the interconnection of Wenzhou people in Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao and facilitating the organization and daily work of the annual conference.

Chen Hao, deputy Party secretary of Wenzhou, hailed the establishment of the new chamber as a demonstration of the city's increasing influence worldwide. He said many entrepreneurs from Wenzhou are making contributions to economic and social development in South China and are serving as bridges to connect their hometown and the three prosperous regions.

Chen called on attendees to join hands with people at home to seek cooperation opportunities together for more win-win results.
