East China's Zhejiang province recently released a program of action for the further development of its new-generation artificial intelligence (AI) industry over the following four years.

The program stated that in the future, Zhejiang will bolster AI development from the perspectives of technology, hardware, products, application and talents.

The province also established a goal that by 2022, remarkable progress will be made in key technologies, basic researches, AI companies and supportive systems. It aims to secure a leading role in China's AI core technologies and become a national demonstration zone for the industry.
