Huzhou in East China's Zhejiang province will work hard to build smarter governance systems in 2019, according to the city's big data development and management bureau.

An official said this year Huzhou will stay focused on the construction of a smart city and the digital upgrading of government services to make life in the city more convenient.

"We'll start a 'digital brain' project in 2019 with the aim of interconnecting different systems and sharing data," he said. A digital brain is an intelligent platform and hub with the application of big data, cloud computing and artificial intelligence technologies.

According to the city's plans, Huzhou will complete the building of an online platform where government services are accessible to the public. The platform will be connected to the province's data platform to improve data sharing and work efficiency.

Data bases for residents, legal professionals, natural resources, spatial information and electronic shared materials will be established in 2019 to provide data support for policymaking.

"Huzhou will construct a comprehensive service center to integrate information resources across the city and conduct research into them with the aim of monitoring development trends and preventing potential risks," the official explained.
