Computed tomography (CT) scanners manufactured in East China's Zhejiang province have entered the Southeast Asian market, with the first one being put into use at a hospital in Vietnam at the beginning of March.

MinFound Medical Systems Co Ltd, based in Shaoxing, is a high-tech company dedicated to the development and production of high-end medical equipment. Since it developed a 16-slice CT scanner independently in 2015, MinFound has seen a robust growth momentum in its export business.

In 2018, the ScintCare CT scanners from the company received clearance for them to be sold in the European Union and the United States.

"Since the beginning of 2019, we've received orders from foreign countries such as Myanmar, Egypt and the United States with over 50 scanners sold," said Pan Huasu, chairwoman of MinFound.

In the past, giants including General Electric, Philips and Siemens cornered and dominated the Chinese and foreign markets of medical equipment, which makes the Zhejiang company's export progress all the more significant.

Pan attributed the success to MinFound's professional research and development team. She explained that there are more than 600 employees in the company and researchers account for half.

In addition to the production of new and advanced equipment, MinFound is also striving to improve their after-sales services. The company is developing a remote control system to ensure the smooth operation of its scanners abroad.

"The system will allow us to monitor the status of our products to address the potential problems as soon as possible," said Pan.
