The development and reform commission of Zhejiang province recently issued a plan to realize the integrated intelligent development of cars, transportation, facilities and cities by 2022, and raise the output of smart cars and related industries to more than 1 trillion yuan ($142.57 billion) by 2025.

Specific targets include strengthening R&D on key technology, improving industrial layout and car testing, and establishing sound laws and regulations.

The plan emphasizes the development of technologies such as environmental perception, high-precision positioning, control execution and virtual simulation.

China's smart car industry is developing rapidly. Many cities in the Yangtze River Delta region have been working tirelessly to build demonstration zones for intelligent car testing and application.
