Zhejiang province recently started soliciting votes from the public to choose the province's top 10 cultural symbols.

Voters will choose their 10 favorite cultural symbols from a total of 30 candidates which have been selected over the past several months since the activity was first launched by the provincial publicity department and the CPPCC Zhejiang Provincial Committee on May 5.

The symbols are an attempt to better preserve and utilize the province's rich culture, increase the province's cultural influence, and foster a sense of cultural pride. 

A total of 399 submissions were collected from throughout the province, which were narrowed down to 30 candidates after three rounds of expert review. Final candidates include the historic site of Hemudu culture in Ningbo and the ruins of Liangzhu ancient city in Hangzhou.

Voting started on Nov 25 and will end on Dec 1. Voters may scan the QR code below with their mobile WeChat to vote for their 10 favorites.
