Songyang county in Lishui, East China's Zhejiang province, has actively responded to the call of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the State Council, and has carried out poverty alleviation coordination and assistance work in Bazhong, Southwest China's Sichuan province, since 2018.

Based on the geographical advantages in Bazhong, Songyang focuses on the tea industry as a key poverty alleviation project. Each year, Songyang donates 66.67 hectares of tea seedlings to Bazhong to help poor families.

In the meantime, Songyang also encourages local tea enterprises and tea merchants to invest in Bazhong to help improve the whole industrial chain of Sichuan tea.

At present, with the assistance of Songyang, the per capita annual income of more than 6,000 registered poor people in Sichuan has increased by 7,000 yuan ($988).

The East Zhejiang Tea Market in Songyang is one of the biggest green tea markets in China, with a wide range of market and a complete range of tea varieties.

In March last year, five Bazhong tea enterprises became the first batch of Sichuan tea enterprises to enter the tea market. They set up the Bazhong Yunding tea brand stores and sold more than 2,000 tons of Sichuan tea last year, with an output value of more than 150 million yuan.
