Hangzhou, Ningbo to spur culture & tourism consumption

East China's Zhejiang province will take five measures to accelerate recovery of the culture and tourism industries, according to a press conference on May 21.

According to the provincial culture and tourism bureau, all 1,568 of the province's public libraries and cultural venues, 91.4 percent of its 851 museums and galleries, 83.2 percent of its 2,426 travel agencies, 88.6 percent of its 3,621 entertainment venues, including night clubs and ball rooms, and 90.5 percent of its 5,292, internet cafes and video game centers have reopened.

The bureau will take the following measures to stimulate consumption in the culture and tourism sectors.

Abide by the national epidemic-prevention requirements and guide culture and tourism enterprises to resume business in an orderly manner;

Roll out pro-consumption policies and promote innovative finance products, such as co-branded debit or credit cards;

Accelerate the digitalization of culture and tourism industries;

Step up development of night economy by building provincial-level night markets and help popular stores to remain open 24 hours a day;

Make Hangzhou and Ningbo national pilot cities for culture and tourism consumption.
