Authorities in Zhejiang province recently announced that they will designate certain cities to pilot nighttime economies from 2020 to 2022 in an effort to boost the province's nighttime economy and increase nighttime consumption.

Commercial centers will be built and supporting infrastructure will be improved to attract consumers. 

The pilot cities must have strong urban infrastructure, huge consumption potential, especially in terms of nighttime consumption, and be willing to take on the responsibility. 

Pilot cities will receive financial support from the provincial commerce department, and regulations within the cities will become stricter.
