The 2020 CEEC Product Online Fair drew to a close in Ningbo, East China's Zhejiang province, on June 14, according to local media reports.

More than 540 exhibitors from the CEEC (Central and Eastern European Countries) and countries involved in the Belt and Belt and Road Initiative took part in the fair.

The online event featured 2,571 exhibits including food and beverages, household goods, alcohol, cosmetics, and personal care products and attracted 2,516 domestic buyers and over 80,000 visitors per day.

In addition to the fair, nearly 200 CEEC products ranging from Serbian wine and Bulgarian rose essential oil to Latvian mineral paint and Polish beer were available for purchase through a digital store on Pinduoduo, an e-commerce platform with roughly 585 million registered users.

Ten diplomats-turned-live streamers from the CEEC garnered more than two million total viewers while promoting special products from their countries from June 8 to 9.

Meanwhile, Ningbo moved the second International Consumer Goods Fair online. The fair attracted a total of 1,564 exhibitors and featured 21,642 exhibits showcasing gifts, stationery, ornaments, kitchen utensils, sanitary equipment, daily necessities, and more.

Local authorities also arranged a series of matchmaking activities by partnering with international exhibition companies, and a total of 182 foreign buyers and 284 Ningbo suppliers were invited to interact through video conferences.

Thirteen live streams were also held during the fair to promote local products, attracting 3.77 million viewers and generating 16.43 million yuan ($2.38 million) in sales.

In addition, the online events coincided with the establishment of organizations such as the CEEC International Industrial Cooperation Park and the China (Ningbo) Cross-border E-commerce Alliance.

A signing ceremony for 43 projects costing 66.58 billion yuan to be established in Ningbo was also held on the sidelines of the fair.
