After being shuttered for nearly six months, about sixty percent of cinemas in East China's Zhejiang province reopened on July 20.

According to current COVID-19 prevention protocols, only 30 percent of seats can be occupied and all tickets should be reserved online using the buyer's identities. And all viewers are required to provide their health code and body temperature, and wear masks during the entire screening.

Based on strict epidemic prevention and control, the Zhejiang Film Administration will implement various supportive policies to help cinemas and the film industry, offering film consumption vouchers with a special fund of 10 million yuan ($1.43 million). Fifteen films that have already won great popularity in the past few years have been selected for screening in the cinemas. And service trainings are planned for cinema staff on policy promotion, business consultation and legal services from the end of July.

More cinemas in the province are under preparation for business resumption.
