Quzhou sees increasing tourist arrivals amid post-coronavirus recovery

According to the half-yearly tourism report for 2020, the tourism market of Quzhou, East China's Zhejiang province, after several months of silence due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, has taken the lead in reversing trends across the province.

The city's travel agencies have weathered the storm better than other cities in Zhejiang, with tourist group reception volume in May enjoying year-on-year growth of 15.1 percent. In June, with a year-on-year growth of 96.5 percent, Quzhou became the only city in the province where domestic group tourism was increasing.

Travel agencies in Quzhou received 281,600 domestic tourists and organized 81,400 tourism tours in the city from January to June 2020. By the end of June, the number of group visitors had recovered to 85 percent of the numbers from the same period last year.

The Shuitingmen historic and cultural block was already crowded with many local residents and tourists on the morning of July 25.

The 2020 "Holy Land of Southern Confucianism · Virtuous Quzhou" (“南孔圣地·衢州有礼”) Quzhou city brand cloud promotion activity was held on the same day. Quzhou, a time-honored city used the online promotion mode to call out its own brand to promote the integration of the Yangtze River Delta region. 

Additionally, 100 scenic spots providing free tours in Quzhou were listed in May, with the aim of boosting its tourism industry in 2020.
