Jiaxing-based Zhejiang ICLeague Technology Co Ltd recently debuted the world's first very-high performance heterogeneous chip, Jiaxing Daily reported on Aug 23.

The newly-developed chip marks a huge breakthrough in storage and computing integration and features a great improvement in performance and cost effectiveness over previous models.

The chip, which breaks down the limit between storage and computing for homogeneous chips and integrates data storage with computing, will play a significant role in accelerating the upgrading of industries through artificial intelligence (AI) technologies.

Founded in 2018, ICLeague specializes in developing AI chips. At the early stages of the company's development, its founder invited five renowned experts in chip research and more than 20 professionals to set up a research team for heterogeneous chips.

Despite the complex structure of the chip, which made it difficult to produce, ICLeague took just one year to successfully create the chip.

ICLeague said that the AI chip will be available on the market soon.

The company has also registered a new company, Zhejiang Haixin Microsemiconductor Technology Co Ltd, to be in charge of producing the chip.

Meanwhile, ICLeague's researchers have started developing a new-generation of chips for highly profitable fields such as smart city and intelligent industry. The design of the main structure of these next-gen chips has already been completed.
