The 2022 "Focus On Zhejiang" International Cultural Exchange Activity was launched at Deqing World Geographic Information Town, in Huzhou city, East China's Zhejiang province on Friday.

A folk music piece titled "Picturesque Zhejiang" raised the curtains to the opening ceremony of this event, featuring typical elements of Zhejiang, such as silk, tea, bamboo, poetry and Song Dynasty (960-1279) -style culture.

At the opening ceremony, the 2008 Nobel Prize winner for literature French writer Jean-Marie Gustave Le Clézio, who had once visited Hangzhou, made an appearance through a video. He recited Chinese ancient poet Li Bai's poem Southern Maiden in French, and expressed his yearning to travel to China.

This year's event will be more diverse and is scheduled to last until the end of the year, according to the organizer. The China Academy of Art will hold activities such as the Liangzhu International Community Art Festival. The Wuzhen Theater Festival will be held at the end of November, and the University of Nottingham Ningbo will organize foreign teachers and students to visit Chinese rural enterprises.

To embrace the 19th Asian Games, the "Asian Games International Class" was specially set up for foreign friends living in Zhejiang, which will introduce the cultural and tourism resources of Zhejiang related to the Asian Games. Led by sports stars and foreign internet celebrities, the class will present the achievements of the construction of beautiful homes in Zhejiang and common prosperity.

Gymnastics World Champion Jiang Yuyuan appeared at the first "Asian Games International Class", who led audiences to visit the three-person basketball court for the Asian Games in Deqing Geographic Information Town.

Besides, "Focus on Zhejiang" International Cultural Exchange platform was also launched on the APP "Hourly News", which serves as an online community for foreign friends to share their experiences in Zhejiang.

"Focus On Zhejiang" International Cultural Exchange Activity, jointly sponsored by Information Office of Zhejiang Provincial Government and Zhejiang Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, has been held consecutively for three years.
