Huang Jianfeng, a farmer in Xindai town, Pinghu city, is currently busy preparing for the rice harvest. Thankfully, his job has been made easier due to a new application rolled out by the local government.

"It used to take five to six months to get grain subsidies," Huang said. "Now, I just need to do it on my phone and I can get the subsidy in 10 days."

Authorities in East China's Zhejiang province launched a digital application of the agricultural recently. It is convenient for farmers to apply for subsidies online during the autumn harvest.

In addition, there are also agricultural insurance and loans for farmers and 123 types of agricultural insurance available on the application. A total of 5,569 loans have been granted to agricultural projects worth more than 2.5 billion yuan ($348 million).
