In 2025, Jinhua in Zhejiang province made significant progress in improving residents' quality of life. The municipal government implemented 33 key projects across 10 areas — elder care, child welfare, healthcare, transportation, employment, education, the rural environment, housing, fitness, and safety.

Public service enhancements

Jinhua actively promoted the "national expert clinic" initiative last year, inviting renowned medical professionals who performed 701 complex surgeries and delivered 11,186 outpatient services, significantly reducing the need for residents to travel for medical care. These experts also supported local medical development through teaching and technical guidance.

The city improved community infrastructure by revamping 21 neighborhood youth activity centers, adding 1,100 sports facilities, and hosting 1,213 local fitness events. Vocational training in key sectors was provided to 95,600 person-times; employment support was offered to 83,700 individuals in key groups, and 112 youth rural practice sites were established.

Livelihood security improvements

Jinhua focused on the needs of the elderly and children. It provided training for 13,500 person-times of elder care service personnel, insured 692,900 residents over 70 against accidental injuries, and offered free HPV vaccinations to 6,899 eligible girls. Autism screenings were conducted for 3,683 children aged 0 to 6, with rehabilitation support provided to 872 disabled children.

Urban and rural environment optimization

The rural environment saw significant improvements, with infrastructure upgrades in villages like Baifeng and Guanchuan boosting both tourism and agricultural sales. In Wuyi county, the renovated Bailu Creek became a focal point for eco-tourism. Urban living conditions also improved with the development of 19 new pocket parks, creating accessible recreational spaces for all residents.

Jinhua's 2025 initiatives have left a lasting positive impact, and the government remains committed to fostering inclusive, people‑centered development for a brighter future.
