The sixth session of the Seventh Quzhou Municipal People's Congress started on Feb 24 in Quzhou city, located East China's Zhejiang province, addressing a raft of key issues for the metropolis.

A group of 310 deputies listened to and deliberated on Quzhou's government work report, examining the implementation of the city's development achievements during the 13th Five-Year Plan period (2016-20) and major work carried out by the municipal government in 2020 -- as well as the draft plan for national economic and social development in 2021.

The deputies also examined Quzhou's implementation of fiscal budgets in 2020 and the draft fiscal plan for 2021.

The city's GDP reached 163.9 billion yuan ($2.53 billion) last year, with an average annual growth rate of 6.4 percent, while per capita GDP exceeded $10,000.

Revenue in the general public budget in 2020 increased by an average annual rate of 8.4 percent and urban and rural incomes rose by an annual average of 8.2 percent and 9.3 percent, respectively.
