Lishui city aims high to boost investment
Lishui city in East China's Zhejiang province issued a white paper called Twenty Opinions on Further Strengthening Investment Attraction Work on March 7 – aiming to further boost investment and recruitment and achieve a leapfrog advance in its high-quality development.
According to the paper, the city's Liandu district and Qingtian, Jinyun and Suichang counties should leverage their locational and industrial advantages to help attract investment projects costing 5 billion yuan ($717.32 million) or more.
It proposes that the county-level city of Longquan and Songyang county should ramp up efforts to win over projects of 5 billion yuan. Moreover, Yunhe, Qingyuan and Jingning counties should also lobby hard to fully tap their potential as magnets for attracting projects of more than 2 billion yuan.
Lishui will also strengthen its links between the primary, secondary and tertiary industries – driving investment in the primary and tertiary industries by introducing manufacturing projects in particular.
Relying on its characteristic strengths – including agriculture, forestry, water resources and Chinese medicinal materials – the city plans to focus on attracting leading processing companies.
The city will assist its administrative regions to introduce emerging sectors such as new energy storage, high-end machine tools, smart transportation and the metaverse.
In addition, Lishui will bolster efforts to recruit and train high-level personnel and skilled people, including engineers and technical craftsmen.
