As the five-day May Day holiday approaches, Lishui in East China's Zhejiang province invites visitors to admire the breathtaking blooms of the city flower, the rhododendron.
Symbolizing love, joy, prosperity, and good fortune, these flowers are a cherished emblem of Lishui, known for their ecological and aesthetic value.
During the holiday, Lishui's rhododendrons will be at their peak, thanks to the region's unique mountainous climate. As elevation increases by 100 meters, the blooming period is delayed by 2-3 days, creating a stunning tapestry of staggered blooms. This phenomenon offers a spectacular display of diverse landscapes and vibrant flowers.

Other must-see locations include the lantern rhododendrons in Jinyun county's Dayang town, the expansive blooms in Suichang county's Gaoping township, the Rhododendron simiarum in Songyang county's Ruoliao scenic area, and the alpine varieties in Qingtian county's Jiepai Mountain, Longquan city's Fengyang Mountain, Yunhe county's Meilong village, Qingyuan county's Huangtian town, and Jingning county's Jingnan township.
The city has launched a grand rhododendron event, connecting scenic spots, accommodations, and local cuisine. It offers visitors not only floral beauty but also unique cultural tourism experiences.
