'Country Walk' ignites tourism boom in Lishui

This May Day holiday, a new travel trend known as "Country Walk", referring to village tourism, has shed a spotlight on the scenic villages in Lishui, East China's Zhejiang province, which have became prime destinations.

"Country Walk" is emerging as a fresh alternative to the already popular "City Walk", and Lishui, with its abundant rural charm, is perfectly positioned to capitalize on this trend.

During the recent May Day holiday, tourists flocked to Changting village in Yunhe county, which offers breathtaking views of lush greenery and serene freshwater beaches.

In Suichang county, Chashuping village was a vibrant tapestry of blooming azaleas stretching over 10 kilometers. The village leveraged its floral beauty to create a stunning azalea viewing corridor, drawing thousands of visitors daily during the holiday.

Meanwhile, Xitou village in Longquan, recognized as one of the Best Tourism Villages 2024 by the United Nations World Tourism Organization, came alive at night with a captivating immersive experience centered around Longquan celadon.
