Lishui Airport offers travel mixed with local cultural tourism
The new Lishui Airport officially started operations on July 18, enhancing southwestern Zhejiang's transportation network while bringing local cultural elements into its terminal.
Passengers at the airport — located in Lishui in East China's Zhejiang province — can now experience She ethnic silver handicrafts, the essence of Oujiang River scenery, Qingtian coffee and Chuzhou cuisine within the terminal.
A Spanish overseas Chinese passenger said that drinking hometown coffee in the airport evoked cherished memories. The coffee embodies the airport's commercial concept of creating distinctive local commercial spaces within compact confines.
The terminal features ceilings reflecting Lishui landscapes, Longquan celadon, Qingyuan shiitake mushrooms and Jinyun shaobing — a kind of bucket-baked roll.
Travelers in the terminal encounter a dynamic display of southwestern Zhejiang's specialties. The approach of sourcing products directly from their origin, with traceable quality, allows travelers to verify a product's source location and experience authentic local flavors.
The airport further integrates air travel and tourism resources, launching a coordinated aviation and tourism service in partnership with Lishui's cultural tourism sector.
Arriving passengers can unlock a Lishui Cultural Tourism Pass for complimentary access to 28 core scenic spots rated 4A or above, and enjoy a comprehensive travel experience covering dining, shopping, transportation and entertainment.
Leveraging its "small yet refined" service advantage, the airport empowers traditional commerce through digital solutions, with smart solutions offering diverse consumption choices.
Future plans include introducing local cultural tourism features, enriching the terminal's commercial and cultural dimensions to transform it into a demonstration of southwestern Zhejiang culture.
