Zhejiang boosts cultural exports with online literature, dramas and games
Online literature, online dramas, and online games — known as the "new trio" of cultural exports — are becoming significant drivers of Chinese culture's global reach.
In Zhejiang province, the cultural export boom is accelerating, with a growing number of innovative enterprises making their mark on the global stage.
On Aug 26, the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Zhejiang Provincial Committee and the China Chamber of International Commerce Zhejiang Chamber of Commerce co-hosted a cultural export salon and enterprise visit event in Hangzhou.
The event focused on exploring new models and pathways for introducing Zhejiang's "new trio" to international markets.
One of the leading enterprises in this field is Zhejiang Dafeng Industry Co Ltd, which has participated in over 5,000 projects across more than 100 countries, from Athens to Southeast Asia. Its contributions include landmark cultural venues such as the Palace of Peace and Reconciliation and the National Theatre of Yangon.
Dafeng is now shifting from exporting stage equipment to exporting creative concepts, leveraging popular Chinese sci-fi franchises such as The Wandering Earth to create immersive entertainment experiences that combine digital content with physical venues.

Zhejiang cultural enterprises are transitioning from acting as agents to developing and distributing their own content.
Under the "Zheli Go Global" initiative, Zhejiang is increasing support for cultural enterprises through trade fairs, international networking platforms, business intelligence, and legal services.
This year, CCPIT Zhejiang launched a dedicated campaign under the initiative to help companies diversify markets, manage overseas risks, and optimize their global strategies, with cultural exports as a core component.
Looking ahead, Zhejiang plans to improve customs clearance efficiency for cultural products, build more platforms for cultural exchange and trade, and offer comprehensive legal and business services.
These measures aim to enable more Zhejiang-made cultural products and services to reach audiences worldwide.
