Start of Winter: Prelude to winter
Start of Winter marks all things at rest. The bustling world quiets at this moment, all things retreat and rejuvenate to prepare for the next season. As Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) poet Wang Zhideng wrote in Start of Winter: "The autumn wind has stripped branches bare; Among red leaves I lodge with care. A dim lamp and half-moon seen; Tonight feels colder than last night keen." Autumn fades, and winter's here to stay. May warmth be with you, night and day.
