Thanks to their exceptional quality, Lishui's reconstituted bamboo products are now being shipped to over 100 countries and regions.

Zhejiang Jiahe Bamboo Industry Technology, a key local player, subjects raw bamboo to more than 10 stages of rolling and 18 core processes, including high-temperature treatment and lamination, to produce high-end flooring resistant to corrosion and high temperatures.

The company's exports once held 70 percent of the national market for similar products, with its 2025 exports hitting 76 million yuan ($11.04 million), a year-on-year increase of 139.4 percent.

Lishui, a major bamboo production area in Zhejiang, is rich in bamboo resources, with a forest area of 2.47 million mu (164,933.33 hectares) and 81 million standing bamboos, supporting an annual harvest of 115 million bamboo stalks.

This ecological wealth underpins a diverse export portfolio that now extends beyond high-end building materials to include specialized wooden products like pet ramps and cat trees, which are popular in markets such as Europe, the United States, and Australia.

To support this industry, Lishui Customs has streamlined supervision, implementing a dual management system combining risk levels and enterprise categories.

These efforts, paired with enhanced technical support to meet international environmental and quality standards, have strengthened the sector's global competitiveness.

In 2025, Lishui Customs supervised the export of bamboo building materials worth 132 million yuan, a 27.2 percent increase year-on-year.
