After the Spring Festival holiday, various common prosperity workshops in Yunhe county of Lishui, Zhejiang province, swiftly resumed operations, with workers striving to fulfill orders and secure a strong start to the first quarter.
At the Baihejian Common Prosperity Workshop, workers are busy cleaning, cutting, pickling, and canning locally sourced mushrooms and vegetables.
The workshop resumed work on Feb 25 and is currently focused on completing an order of 2,000 jars of mushroom sauce and beef paste, which will be sold in supermarkets and online platforms in cities such as Hangzhou and Ningbo.
By purchasing agricultural products from local farmers, the workshop helps increase their incomes and promotes local specialties in broader markets.
Similarly, at the Old Street Common Prosperity Workshop, workers assemble wooden toys, including tangram puzzles. One worker said that the flexible hours allow her to earn about 80 yuan ($11.6) per day while still caring for her family.
The county currently has 85 common prosperity workshops engaged in wooden toy production, agricultural product processing, and materials processing. As of March 3, over 60 workshops have resumed operations.
To further increase residents' income and strengthen the collective economy, Yunhe county plans to introduce support policies for these workshops. These will include annual subsidies for three to five public welfare collective workshops and employment stability subsidies for profitable ones.
The county will also leverage its advantages in wooden toys and contract farming to promote integrated development of specialized industries, broadening income channels and bolstering village collectives.
