The third session of the "Songyang Translators' Home" translation workshop — an online event titled Jin Xiaoyu and His Friends — was held on March 7.

Jin Xiaoyu, known as a gifted translator who has mastered multiple foreign languages and translated over 20 books, joined cultural figures via livestream to discuss translation and creativity.

The Songyang Translators' Home, China's first residential platform for translators, is located in Youtian village, Songyang county, Lishui, Zhejiang province, and aims to connect local traditions with global perspectives, fostering cross-cultural dialogue.

Since its trial in August 2025, it has hosted 52 translators working in languages including Chinese, English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, and Persian.

The recent live event expanded the platform's reach beyond physical boundaries, enabling a broader audience to experience Songyang's cultural charm. Translators based in Songyang find inspiration in the serene rural environment, integrating local life and landscapes into their work.

The initiative continues to evolve by welcoming more translators worldwide and strengthening partnerships with universities and publishers.

Songyang aims to build the translators' home into an internationally influential cultural brand that promotes deeper exchanges between China and the world.
