Eight Bangladeshi artists visited Longquan, a county-level city in Lishui, Zhejiang province, from April 10 to 12, to explore its millennium-old traditions and rural landscapes as part of the "Perceiving China" program.

A Sino-Bangladeshi art salon was held on April 12 in Wang'ou Taoxichuan in Longquan. Artists discussed cultural development, artistic creation, and heritage preservation, while making artworks together. The two sides agreed to carry out exhibition exchanges, share their art collections, and host talent visits.

Bangladeshi artist Abdus Sattar incorporated cultural elements of both countries into a celadon plate as a token of friendship. Longquan celadon artist Yang Leping said he was inspired to engage in cross-border cultural exchanges.

In Baoxi township's Xitou village, recognized among the Best Tourism Villages by the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), the international bamboo architecture community impressed the artists, who sketched the natural scenery. They also experienced the traditional kiln opening ceremony, which Bangladeshi artist Rezaul Hoque called an unforgettable moment.

Shakti Pada Halder from Bangladesh National Museum said that the museum has a "China corner" displaying Chinese artifacts. Artist Mong Mong Sho said he would incorporate his impressions into art exhibitions, hoping to present an authentic image of China to Bangladeshis.

Bangladesh is an important stop along the Maritime Silk Road with historical ties to Longquan. According to a Longquan official, the Chinese Embassy in Bangladesh will host an exhibition of the trip's achievements on May 19, promoting Longquan's cultural study programs and popular travel routes.
