The intelligent short‑distance transport industry in Lishui's Jinyun county, Zhejiang province, posted robust growth in the first half of 2026 with 42 enterprises above designated size generating output value of nearly 4 billion yuan ($592.55 million), up 27.2 percent year‑on‑year.
Two local manufacturers highlight the sector's growth. Zhejiang Leshang Leisure Products, formerly an e‑scooter maker, shifted to self‑developed electric motorcycles three years ago. Targeting Russia's frigid climate, it solved battery thermal management and high‑power motor challenges. Its cold‑resistant e‑motorbike secured over 50 million yuan in Russian orders in H1, helping total sales nearly double to about 100 million yuan, with another 40 million yuan in orders due before Christmas.
Zhejiang Aijiu Technology, founded in 2022, quickly expanded from e‑bicycles to e‑motorcycles and secured access to the United States market within half a year. Its H1 output exceeded 130 million yuan, up over 200 percent.
The company operates four warehouse showrooms across the US, allowing for immediate orders and quick delivery. It ships five to six containers each day, and more than 70 percent of its monthly output of over 10,000 e-motorcycles is destined for the US. The peak season begins in September, around Black Friday and Christmas.
This surge is driven by a mature local supply chain. Jinyun hosts over 70 supporting firms within the Yongkang‑Wuyi‑Jinyun hardware cluster, providing core components like instruments, batteries, motors and controllers with over 60 percent local sourcing.
The county's competitive riding‑gear industry is now part of Zhejiang's "new star" industrial cluster cultivation list. Additionally, collaborative R&D with embedded research institutes is driving products toward higher quality and more differentiated options.
