Lishui athletes win four golds, one bronze at Asian Games

At the Asian Games Aichi-Nagoya 2026, Lishui athletes have won four golds and one bronze so far.

On Sept 26, Lishui native Wang Nan claimed the canoe sprint women's kayak single 500 meters title in 1 min 55.999 sec. It was her second gold at the Games and Lishui's first individual gold. In the final, Wang took the lead early and finished 1.77 seconds ahead of the Uzbekistan runner-up.

Liu Yaxin from Lishui also won two golds and one bronze in swimming, making her the most decorated Lishui athlete at the Games.

On Sept 24, the Chinese team of Li Jiaping, Liu Yaxin, Yu Yiting and Li Bingjie won the women's 4 × 200m freestyle relay in 7:49.37, claiming the event's eighth consecutive Asian Games title. Liu swam the second leg in 1:55.97, the fastest split on the Chinese team, extending China's lead.

Meanwhile, the Chinese climbing team begins competition on Sept 29. Lishui athlete Zhou Yafei has been selected for the Asian Games climbing roster.
