Shaoxing in East China's Zhejiang province held its first Shaoxing Olympic Sports Center Aquathlon Open on Oct 18.

Over 200 sports lovers competed in 1.2 kilometers of swimming and six kilometers of racing. Shao Wenfang, the first Chinese person to win a title at the women's triathlon world series, was among the competitors.

The event was a warm-up activity before the annual Shaoxing Marathon, which will fall on Nov 8 this year.
