Zhoushan launches 'imported split consolidation' service for faster deliveries

Updated : 2026-02-05 (chinadaily.com.cn)

A shipment of 27.66 metric tons of wine imported from Russia arrived on Feb 2 at the Jintang port area of Ningbo-Zhoushan Port, East China's Zhejiang province, marking the city's first implementation of the "imported split consolidation" service model, which enhances logistics efficiency, reduces trade costs, and diversifies port services, strengthening the port area's competitiveness.

Under the new model, goods in the same container that belong to different owners can be split and handled independently, with each owner able to submit declarations and release goods separately.

This change eliminates the previous requirement to wait for all goods in a container to be declared and cleared before unloading, where if one item is held up by customs inspection, the entire shipment is delayed. Goods that do not require inspection can now be declared, cleared, and released on the same day, significantly accelerating delivery.
