Trail Donghai was held on March 14 in Putuo district, Zhoushan, East China's Zhejiang province, with three distinct race categories: TDH50K (53.3 kilometers), VDH30K (29.6 km), and CDH20K (20.3 km), attracting over 4,000 participants from China and abroad.
Jia Lei, a runner from the Inner Mongolia autonomous region, shared his excitement, saying he and his team were drawn to the island-style trail race after training for a month in preparation for the event.
Since its establishment in 2018, Trail Donghai has become the first trail event in Putuo to attract over 1,000 participants. This year's route takes advantage of local hiking trails, connecting mountain ridges, coastlines, and ancient villages, allowing athletes to push their limits while enjoying the region's stunning coastal scenery.
As runners reached the first checkpoint, the temperature began to rise, but the refreshing sea breeze helped ease the race's intensity.
Liu Qin, a runner, expressed his satisfaction, saying that it was his first time participating in a hometown race and praised the course design and medical support, adding that the overall experience was fantastic.
