Four thousand runners from across China gathered in Dinghai district, Zhoushan, East China's Zhejiang province, on April 19 for the 2026 Taifeng Donghai Cloud Corridor Half Marathon, with most of the race staged along an elevated coastal greenway.
The race started on Shuangyong Lu and covered the standard half marathon distance of 21.0975 kilometers.
The course was distinguished by its layout, with over 90 percent of it set along the Donghai Cloud Corridor, a scenic ecological pathway integrating hills, forest, and sea views. Runners passed through multiple sections, including Zhushan and Leigu Mountain areas, with the route linking natural landscapes and historic landmarks such as Zhuangyuan Pavilion.
In the men's category, runner Chen Xin claimed first place with a time of 1:12:44. In the women's category, Zhou Xueqin took the title in 1:24:48 after a competitive race.
Finisher medals featured a relief design highlighting the Donghai Cloud Corridor landscape and Zhuangyuan Pavilion, along with wave motifs symbolizing the coastal setting.
Organizers also introduced consumption vouchers for participants, offering discounts at selected restaurants, hotels, and retail outlets in Dinghai, aiming to convert event traffic into local tourism spending.
