A newly built ro-ro passenger vessel, Hai Shang Gong Fu, was launched in Zhoushan, East China's Zhejiang province, on April 22. It is set to improve inter-island transport in the city's northern waters.
Designed for regional navigation needs, the vessel supports combined passenger, vehicle, and cargo transport, addressing demand for more efficient mobility between islands. The ship measures 82.37 meters in length and 16 meters in width. It can carry 452 passengers and 33 standard 5-metric-ton trucks.
Onboard facilities are tailored for convenience and comfort. Elevators allow easier boarding and disembarking, while the mid-level cabin includes a beverage bar and reading area. Upper cabins are equipped with adjustable seating designed to offer a more refined travel experience.
The vessel is undergoing interior outfitting and equipment installation. It is expected to enter service during the summer travel season, operating on routes including Yanwo Mountain to Qushan Island in Daishan county.
