Zhoushan launches low-altitude island sightseeing flights

Updated : 2026-04-29 (chinadaily.com.cn)

Zhoushan in East China's Zhejiang province has introduced its first low-altitude island sightseeing routes, offering short aerial tours with panoramic views of coastal landscapes.

Departing from Zhoushan Putuoshan International Airport, the new routes cover key scenic areas, including Guanyin Cultural Park and Putuo Mountain Scenic Area, as well as coastal destinations such as Nansha and Dongsha beaches and Daqingshan National Forest Park. Flight durations range from about 12 to 20 minutes, offering a compact aerial travel experience.

The service simplifies travel by requiring only on-site check-in, safety briefing, and security screening — typically completed within 30 minutes. Each flight can carry up to three passengers.

Promotional fares have been introduced during the initial launch phase, with shorter routes priced at 398 yuan (about $58) per person and longer routes priced at 796 yuan.

The new service aims to diversify tourism offerings and give visitors a unique perspective on Zhoushan's island scenery, combining convenience with experiential travel.
