Zhoushan, in East China's Zhejiang province, will establish a dedicated city pavilion at the 2026 World Island Exhibition Yeosu Korea in South Korea, creating a new platform for international cultural and tourism exchanges.

At the expo's International Exchange Island area, Zhoushan will showcase its island landscapes, signature tourism products, and traditional intangible cultural heritage. The city will also host a dedicated tourism promotion event featuring cultural performances, including Yueju Opera, to introduce the unique charm of Zhoushan's island culture to global visitors.

Zhoushan will send an official delegation to the expo's opening ceremony to promote its island tourism resources to international buyers and travelers, with a focus on expanding its presence in the Northeast Asian tourism market.

Since March, Zhoushan and the South Korean side have established a regular communication mechanism covering expo participation, cross-border tourism promotion, trade cooperation, and potential sister-city partnerships.

Scheduled from Sept 5 to Nov 4, the expo will be held under the theme "Islands, Connecting the Ocean and the Future." It is expected to attract participants from 30 countries and receive around 3 million visits, making it one of the world's largest international exhibitions dedicated to island development and tourism.
