The Zhejiang Wuju Opera Research Institute (Zhejiang Wuju Opera Troupe) from Jinhua, Zhejiang province, has begun a cultural exchange tour in Belarus and Russia, marking Wuju Opera's debut in these countries.

A team of 49 performers will visit Minsk and Brest in Belarus, and Ulyanovsk and Krasnodar in Russia from Sept 10 to 23. Krasnodar, a sister city to Jinhua, will further strengthen cultural ties through this visit.

The troupe will perform five shows and three flash mob events, alongside three workshops and a professional opera lecture, highlighting the unique charm of this ancient art form.

During the tour, the Zhejiang Wuju Opera Troupe will hold cultural discussions with the Brest Regional Culture Bureau and the Ministry of Arts and Cultural Policy of the Ulyanovsk Region. These talks will focus on theater innovation, artistic collaboration, and cultural tourism, aiming to establish a platform for sustained exchange and cooperation.
