A new international cargo route linking Jiaxing in Zhejiang province and Chicago in Illinois was launched on Sept 22, with Suparna Airlines' Y87468 flight departing from Jiaxing Nanhu Airport carrying more than 100 metric tons of electronics, daily necessities, and e-commerce goods.

The route is the second North American cargo route launched by Suparna Airlines from Jiaxing, following the Jiaxing-Los Angeles route opened on July 26.

As a major economic center in North America, Chicago serves as a gateway to the US inland market, with links to advanced manufacturing, international trade, and modern commerce.

The new service provides a direct air logistics channel between the Yangtze River Delta region and North America. It will serve exports including electronics, cross-border e-commerce products, light industrial goods, and high-end industrial components.

An airline representative said the route will help shorten transport times, reduce warehousing, transfer, and logistics costs, and improve supply chain efficiency for regional exporters.

With more than two decades of experience in air cargo, Suparna Airlines operates long-range wide-body freighters, including Boeing 747 and Boeing 777F freighters. It has built a cargo network connecting Asia, Europe, and the Americas.
