The 2026 Forum on China-Africa Legal Communication and Cooperation was held in Jinhua, Zhejiang province, on Nov 4, bringing together legal experts, scholars, and business representatives from China and Africa.

Jinhua is a hub for China-Africa cooperation, with exports to Africa accounting for more than 8 percent of China's total for 11 consecutive years. The city has operated the Central Zhejiang Foreign-Related Legal Service Alliance, built a 204-person legal talent pool, and released over 20 country-specific legal risk prevention guides. It has developed a four-dimensional dispute resolution system covering mediation, arbitration, litigation, and overseas empowerment.

At the event, a batch of legal achievements was released, including the Annual Observation Report on African Rule of Law Development (2026), investment legal service guides for Rwanda and Zambia, an African Union trade and investment compliance guide for Cameroon and Democratic Republic of Congo, an intellectual property protection guide for Kenya, and the "Law Connect Africa" AI agent.

The meeting featured two parallel sessions focusing on "industrial empowerment and dispute resolution" and "theoretical innovation and talent cultivation". Participants discussed cross-border dispute resolution, preventing legal risks for African investment, and training talent in the foreign-related legal profession.
