"The government should improve the way it handles social conflicts and disputes by integrating all available resources and boosting innovation. Efforts should be accelerated to build social dispute settlement centers in all counties," said Che Jun, Party chief of Zhejiang, at a meeting on Nov 26.

Che inspected the social dispute settlement center in Yuhang district, Hangzhou, and expressed appreciation for the center's work.

The center has integrated various departments and brought in many professionals. It has set up more than 20 offices to handle social conflicts and disputes.

Thanks to the center, the district saw a significant drop in the number of local lawsuits over the past six months.

Che said that establishing such centers is part of the government's effort to streamline administrative procedures and improve social governance.

He also urged all related departments to work together to build the centers and form a coordinated mechanism to solve social disputes.
