The Zhejiang government held a meeting on Jan 21 to discuss ways to prevent and control the coronavirus.

Che Jun, Party chief of the province, stressed at the meeting that all departments should coordinate and take strict and effective measures to fight against the disease.

Che noted the inopportune time that the disease has broken out – when millions of people are traveling home for the Spring Festival – which will make it difficult to control its spread. He urged all departments to focus on key areas and mobilize all possible resources to ensure the early discovery, reporting, isolation and treatment of suspected patients.

In addition, Che said that the government should ensure the supply of protective gear and the transparency of information.
