Jiang Zhonghua, a Wenzhou-bred woman who currently presides over a Chinese language school in Rome, Italy, teleconferenced the event and expressed her gratitude towards the Wenzhou authorities.

Months ago, Jiang's school, which primarily enrolls the offspring of Chinese immigrants, was hit hard by the COVID-19 lockdown, so she attempted to seek help from Wenzhou authorities in arranging online Chinese lectures. On March 14, a week after receiving her request, Wenzhou opened cloud classrooms for school children from Chinese immigrant families.

To date, the cloud classrooms, organized by the city's media outlets, have conducted more than 200 lectures, serving more than 700,000 Chinese immigrant children living in 11 foreign countries.
