Sixty boxes of Xianju bayberries arrived in Singapore on June 12 via a cold-chain charter flight, marking the fruit's first direct export by a local producer.
Unlike previous shipments handled through third-party agents, this delivery was independently managed by a company based in Xianju county in Taizhou, Zhejiang province — a milestone in the county's transition from supplier to exporter.

A ceremony to mark this first shipment was held in Singapore the same day. Representatives from China Zhejiang Center (Singapore) and China Taizhou Center (Singapore) attended the event. "This first independent export is a great start," said Chen Wen, chief representative of China Zhejiang Center (Singapore), who also noted the potential for more products from Zhejiang and Taizhou to reach global markets.

Efforts to support Xianju's global expansion have included product exhibitions, supermarket visits, and negotiations with local distributors. Local customs authorities also implemented expedited clearance measures to preserve freshness during the hot season.

Xianju, recognized as the "Hometown of Chinese Bayberries", is positioning its fruit for broader international recognition and higher value through direct export.
