Spring Festival travel rush begins in Taizhou

Passengers rushed to the Taizhou and Taizhouxi railway stations in East China's Zhejiang province on Feb 2, either heading home for Spring Festival or embarking on trips before the holiday.

On the first day of the travel rush, which will run until March 13, spanning 40 days, Taizhouxi Railway Station operated 47.5 pairs of trains, with around 15,700 passenger trips arriving and departing, a 5 percent increase compared to last year. Meanwhile, Taizhou Railway Station handled 30.5 pairs of trains, with approximately 14,000 passenger trips, a number similar to last year.

The most popular routes from Taizhouxi Railway Station are toward Ningbo, Wenzhou, Hangzhou, Shanghai, and Yongkang, with over 59,000 tickets already sold for the Spring Festival season. The station's peak passenger flow is expected from Feb 6 to 11.

The most popular destinations from Taizhou Railway Station are Hangzhou, Shanghai, Nanjing, Fujian, Anhui, and Guangdong, with the station's peak travel periods expected from Feb 5 to 11, Feb 20 to 24, and Mar 1 to 5.
